The Number One Secret to Success of a Top Local NJ Moving Company
Moving in New Jersey (NJ) is a complicated and exciting process. Moving homes can make you feel like your world is changing for the better – but only if you are able to get all of your belongings into your new home smoothly and without difficulty.
Part of the moving process is selecting the right moving company to successfully move all of your belongings for you. This can be a difficult process, because you want the moving company you choose to have the right type of experience, credentials and values to best serve you in this time of need.
If you need more information about selecting a moving company or the services that a moving company can provide for you, contact your local NJ moving company for answers on your most burning move questions.
What are you supposed to look for when you’re looking for a mover to help move your NJ belongings? We created a list of tips to look for.
But the most important thing that you can do during your moved is not only make sure that your belongings are packed into the boxes correctly, but that the movers are packing your things into the trucks and moving them correctly.
Keep in mind that every top mover has one secret – they know how to pack your boxes right.
Most movers will pack your boxes in a specific format or style based on what’s contained in them. We describe in an earlier blog post that one of the most important parts of a choosing a moving company during the moving process is having them come into your home to give you an estimate.
They need to be able to view all of your belongings and boxes to have an appropriate understanding of how much they are going to charge you for the move. But they need to look at your belongings for another reason – they need to have an understanding of how they’re going to pack the truck.
Heavy Stuff on the Bottom
This goes without saying – the heavier items (often in smaller boxes), need to go on the bottom or in the back of the truck. If they’re loaded in first, then fitting in the lighter items becomes easier.
Try to keep this in mind when packing the boxes. As the heavier things will often need to line the bottom of the bed of the truck, they should be able to create a flat surface for the lighter things to stack.
Like Should Go with Like
This is a good rule for packing the boxes themselves, as well as for putting items into the boxes. Similar sized boxes should be packed with one another to minimize sliding and movement during transit. Minimizing the movement will keep your belongings safe from harm as well as make the unpacking process easier.
Furniture Can Fit Together
Your moving company will know how to stack your furniture together to lessen the chance of their being any damage or breakage in transit. For example, you’re not going to set a round coffee table with two large dressers on either side. Should a dresser fall, it would crush the table.
What Needs to Come Out First?
The items that are the most important and that need to come out of the truck first should go in the truck last. This should be kept in mind when packing the boxes with items as well as when packing the boxes into the truck.
